Global Pacific is committed to maintaining a knowledgeable, compliant, and professional workforce.
All employees and contractors are required to complete mandatory training relevant to their role and to participate in ongoing learning as part of their employment obligations.
Training supports regulatory compliance, operational integrity, information security, and professional standards across the organization.
Training Expectations
General Orientation
General Orientation provides new employees and contractors with an introduction to Global Pacific, our workplace culture, and the foundational information needed to begin working effectively and responsibly within the organization.
These orientation materials are typically completed at the start of employment and may be revisited at any time as a reference.
What the Orientation Covers
Orientation videos and materials may include:
- An overview of Global Pacific and our operations

Workplace expectations, professional standards, and culture

Introduction to internal systems, tools, and resources

Health, safety, and security awareness

How to access policies, training modules, and support contacts
The orientation is designed to help employees understand how we work, what is expected, and where to find key resources.
When Orientation Is Required

General Orientation is required for all new employees and contractors

Orientation should be completed upon joining the organization

Completion may be tracked as part of the onboarding process
Important Note
General Orientation supports onboarding and workplace readiness.
It does not replace mandatory compliance training, such as Privacy (PIPEDA), Information Security, or AML/ATF training, which must still be completed as required.

Mandatory Employee Training
The following training modules are required as part of Global Pacific’s compliance and governance framework.
Privacy & Data Protection (PIPEDA)
Frequency: Annual
This training covers employee responsibilities for protecting personal information, including client, advisor, and employee data. Topics include appropriate access, safeguarding information, incident reporting, and internal escalation procedures.

Information Security & Acceptable Use
Frequency: Annual
This training addresses the appropriate use of Global Pacific systems, data, and technology resources, including password security, remote work practices, and access controls.
Anti-Money Laundering & Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) Training and Test
Frequency: Annual (role-dependent)
Certain staff roles may require AML/ATF training based on job function and access. Where applicable, training and testing must be completed annually.
Code of Conduct & Workplace Policies
Frequency: As required
Training and acknowledgment related to workplace conduct, confidentiality, and employment policies may be required periodically or when policies are updated.
Role-Based & Onboarding Training
In addition to mandatory training, employees may be required to complete role-specific training, including:

Systems and applications training

Operational procedures

Compliance or supervisory responsibilities

New hire onboarding and orientation
Required training will be communicated by HR, Compliance, or Management.
Professional Development
Global Pacific supports continuous learning and professional growth beyond mandatory compliance training.
Professional development opportunities may include:

Internal workshops or lunch-and-learn sessions

Skills and systems training
-
External courses or seminars (where approved)
Participation in professional development may be encouraged but is separate from mandatory compliance training unless specifically stated.
Completion, Records & Acknowledgment

Completion of mandatory training is recorded internally

Training records are maintained by HR and Compliance

Employees may be required to acknowledge completion or understanding as part of the training process

Employees are responsible for retaining any certificates or confirmations provided to them
