NEW Additional Deposit Option (ADO) for Participating Whole Life Plans

We are pleased to announce that a new Additional Deposit Option is now available for eligible EstateMax and Optimax Wealth 10 Pay, 20 Pay and Life Pay plans when selecting Paid-Up Additions or Enhanced Coverage dividend options.

This new rider will enable clients to make voluntary additional deposits to their participating life insurance plans. Those additional deposits will be used to purchase Paid-Up Additions over and above the Paid-Up Additions purchased with their annual policy dividends (subject to annual and lifetime ADO deposit maximums).

No Fluid/Non-Medical Limit increase to $250,000 for Individual Critical Illness Products

Effective May 11, 2020, Empire Life raised the limit for No Fluid/Non-Medical underwriting for our critical illness insurance as follows:

· Ages 18 to 40 up to $250,000

· Ages 41 to 50 up to $99,999

· Ages 51+ - standard UW requirements apply (e.g. PHI & Vitals, BP)

This is being implemented on a temporary basis in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to provide solutions for customers that also support physical distancing and stay at home directives across Canada

Earn up to 15% More FYC vs. Paper with eHQ and ePolicy Delivery in the Fast & Full® Life App

Until June 30, 2020 you can earn up to 15% more FYC when you submit Life and Health applications electronically using the award winning Fast & Full Life App.

You’ll still earn 10% more FYC just for using Fast & Full and now you can earn an additional 5% more if you select both the Electronic Health Questionnaire (eHQ) and the ePolicy Delivery options when completing your application.

Suspicious Transaction Reporting

The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) has updated their timing for reporting Suspicious Transactions from "30 days" to "as soon as practicable". This change comes into effect on June 1, 2020.

UPDATED: Trilogy statements for advisors now available via My Advisor Dashboard

Advisor copies of Trilogy Universal Life Statements are now available electronically via your My Advisor Dashboard.

This change will ensure that you continue to have access to the most up to date information about your clients’ Trilogy Universal Life Insurance policies, even though you will no longer receive copies of statements in the mail. Please note that your clients will continue to receive their statements by mail.

Address Changes and protecting our clients' personal information

Updating a client’s address correctly is a cornerstone in protecting their personal information from unauthorized parties. One small error in the client’s unit number or postal code can potentially cause significant harm to a client if their tax slip or policy contract is sent to and opened by the wrong recipient.

Please help us meet our mutual privacy commitment to our customers by double-checking any address change data you share with us no matter what the method. Also, to reduce the risk of paper mailings, please encourage your clients to sign up for the online portal to retrieve e-statements.
